THE SAME FRAMES, TWO ARRANGEMENTS
Gallery wall layout examples
These original worked examples use a fictional 2400 × 1800 mm wall and five frames with different outside dimensions. Both layouts use a 60 mm preset gap. They demonstrate the actual planner rules, not a promise that one arrangement suits every room.
Collected: two centered rows
The first three frames form the top row; the remaining two form the bottom row. Frames are vertically centered within each row. The gap separates the rows’ maximum heights, so differently sized frames can have larger visible edge-to-edge gaps at some positions.
| Frame | Outer W × H | From left | From top |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Sunday light | 400 × 500 | 490 | 420 |
| 2. Quiet landscape | 600 × 450 | 950 | 445 |
| 3. Small gestures | 300 × 400 | 1610 | 470 |
| 4. Soft horizon | 400 × 300 | 820 | 1030 |
| 5. Olive study | 300 × 400 | 1280 | 980 |
The top row is 1420 mm wide and 500 mm high. The bottom row is 760 mm wide and 400 mm high. Together with the 60 mm row gap, the group is 960 mm high and starts 420 mm below the wall’s top.
One row: a shared horizontal center
The same frames keep their input order and outside sizes. They are centered vertically within a single row, so their upper edges are not all aligned. The whole group is 2240 mm wide, leaving 80 mm on each side of this wall.
| Frame | Outer W × H | From left | From top |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Sunday light | 400 × 500 | 80 | 650 |
| 2. Quiet landscape | 600 × 450 | 540 | 675 |
| 3. Small gestures | 300 × 400 | 1200 | 700 |
| 4. Soft horizon | 400 × 300 | 1560 | 750 |
| 5. Olive study | 300 × 400 | 2020 | 700 |
Change the plan to fit your own collection
Open the planner, enter the actual outer dimensions and usable wall size, choose Collected or One row, and press Apply layout. Changing the gap alone does not rearrange frames. Neither preset shrinks frames to make them fit.
For 1–8 frames, Collected puts the first half, rounded up, into the top row and the rest below. One row keeps all frames in a single line. Use numeric positions, arrow keys or dragging to refine a preset. There is no automatic optimal-layout claim.
